About the Dance Company at Great Lakes Dance Academy
Our dance company and Dance Crew auditions are in the spring each year. Dancers rehearses every Saturday from September until April. The Dance Crew and Dance Company attend 3 competitions and perform in a showcase at the Imperial Theatre.
Dance Company Mission Statement
The purpose of this company is to develop dance artists through learning, perfecting and performing a variety of dance pieces. The goal is not to win competitions but to gain experience as a performer and dance artist. Competitions are a great way to validate our hard work and get a chance to perform for dance industry professionals, but the goal each season is to improve our skills and build confidence as dancers.
New This Season — Dance Crew
Dance Crew is designed for dancers who are ready for more training, performance opportunities, and team experience — without the full commitment of our intensive company program. Dancers train in their chosen styles while building strong technique, confidence, teamwork, and stage presence in a supportive and high-energy environment. Dance Crew dancers will participate in competitions, showcase performances, team events, and special studio opportunities throughout the season.
